The cryptocurrency market started 2026 with a surprising surge. A memecoin called Broccoli(714), created on the BNB Chain and associated with CZ, has increased in value by almost 1200% in a single day.
What began as an unexpected market jump quickly became erratic due to suspected hacking. During this confusion, one clever trader managed to earn a $1 million profit.

What Triggered the BROCCOLI(714) Price Spike, 1200%?
Lookonchain data shows the attacker exploited a hacked market maker account to rapidly purchase a large amount of BROCCOLI tokens on the open market. Because BROCCOLI didn’t have many buyers or sellers at the time, even a relatively small investment significantly drove up its price.
The token’s value skyrocketed within hours, jumping from about $0.012 to nearly $0.16 – an increase of over 1,200%.
In a brief period, trading activity surged by 4800%, reaching around $500 million – a very large amount for a relatively new digital token.
How the Hack Played Out
The hacker executed a straightforward but dangerous strategy. They quickly purchased a large amount of BROCCOLI(714) using illegally obtained money. Simultaneously, they made bets that the price of BROCCOLI would rise by opening corresponding trades on futures markets through different accounts.
Things really took off when the price started climbing quickly, and it made it easier to move the stolen funds around using a series of trades. Honestly, because this token didn’t have a lot of trading volume, it was pretty simple for whoever was behind it to manipulate the price.
Although immediate prices increased significantly, prices for future delivery didn’t climb as much. Large purchase orders also emerged, which seemed strange and suggested someone was artificially propping up the price.
Lucky Trader Made $1Million in profit
Surprisingly, some traders actually profited from this quick market shift. For example, a trader named Vida had set up automatic alerts and was notified when the price of BROCCOLI(714) jumped over 30% in less than half an hour.
He noticed unusual and significant purchases of a little-known cryptocurrency. Intrigued, he quickly bought some himself and carefully monitored its price as it began to rise.

Later, the big buy orders disappeared all at once, likely after Binance stepped in.
Vida swiftly closed his position, changed strategies, and profited around $1 million as the price decreased.
Binance Responds, After Token Crashes
Binance has acknowledged the incident and is currently looking into what happened. While they haven’t found any evidence of a direct hack yet, their investigation is still underway.
Unfortunately, the damage has already occurred. BROCCOLI (ticker symbol 714) has significantly dropped in price, falling to around $0.018, which has resulted in substantial losses for those who recently purchased it.
