A Most Curious Tale of XRP, Paid Partnerships, and Mr. Schwartz’s Witty Repartee

It was but a fleeting day after the esteemed social network X (formerly known as Twitter, though one cannot blame them for seeking a fresh start) decreed a ban upon crypto and financial advertisements, only to rescind said decree with all the haste of a gentleman abandoning his boots in a rainstorm. Mr. Nikita Bier, the Head of Product, didst declare that advertising shall once again be permitted, albeit adorned with a “paid partnership” tag-lest the masses mistake a shilling for a heartfelt endorsement.

Enter Mr. David Schwartz, CTO Emeritus of Ripple, a gentleman whose Twitter proclivities are as renowned as his penchant for irony. Upon encountering a post by one “Cobb” (a name suspiciously reminiscent of a certain Mr. Cobbett, though no relation is known), lauding Ripple as “such an awesome company,” Mr. Schwartz replied, “I could not agree more!”-promptly earning himself a paid partnership tag. A delightful farce, one might say, wherein the actor becomes both the audience and the jester.

“Ripple is an awesome company”

I could not agree more!

X’s new policy, while perhaps well-intentioned (how noble!), seeks to shield users from “unbiased” endorsements that are, in truth, paid advertisements. One wonders if Mr. Musk himself shall next require a tag for his tweets declaring “X is the best!”

In this age of digital intrigue, where every post must now declare its allegiance, one can only imagine the future: a world where even Austen’s own Mr. Darcy might be obliged to append a “#PaidPartnership” to his declaration of love. How the times do change!
